Your Weekly Horoscope by The Astro Twins
Your Weekly Overview December 19th – December 25th:
Does that sleigh come with a navigation system? A soulful, sentimental and, yes, signal-scrambling week is ahead, so fasten your seatbelt before the reindeer take off. This Monday, December 19 make-it-happen Mars floats into dreamy Pisces until January 28. Just when you thought you were going to plow through those end-of-year work assignments, you could be diverted to The Enchanted Forest…or on some other random, but fascinating, quest. Mars in Pisces is not exactly directional—but it IS quite soulful. The next five weeks are a time for plumbing the depths, exploring life’s mysteries and bringing more compassion to our daily lives. With politics dividing factions this fall, this Mars phase can act as a healing salve, waking us up to the fact that we are indeed all human beings trying to survive, and maybe thrive, in this brief existence. Peace on Earth, good will to all? Bringing that spirit to our individual interactions might just shift the collective consciousness now. #ChooseLove
Another reason to fire up the GPS—and the moral compass? From Monday until January 8, Mercury will be retrograde. Yes, we said it. Mercury will be retrograde during the holiday season. This planetary “backspin,” which happens 3-4 times a year, is known for causing scheduling snafus and communication breakdowns. And with the exception of the last four days, this retrograde will take place in Capricorn—the sign that rules traditions, ambitions, government and men. (Interesting, given that the Electoral College will cast their final vote on the 19th…) If you’re traveling, have the Uber arrive an hour earlier and make sure you pack the iPad and headphones since there can be delays. Think very carefully about who you gather with during celebrations. Conversations could quickly become heated and divisive, upsetting the general mood of your festivities. It might indeed be better to forgo a family gathering if you know you’re going to get fired up about politics this year. If the women have taken a backseat in your family’s customs, this is the year to flip the script—but don’t exclude the men either. Mercury’s retreat through Capricorn could invite the guys into the kitchen and the women to be masters of ceremony. On the 24th, a playful trine (120-degree angle) between ritualistic Saturn and radical Uranus might inspire us all to do the holidays with a modern twist. Given that Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa all fall closely together this year, an interfaith gathering could be a great way to celebrate diversity and stay on the side of progress this holiday season. Sunday features a second mind-opening trine between harmonizer Venus in Aquarius and worldly Jupiter in Libra. These planets are called “the great benefics” because of their uplifting and positive qualities. Their happy union on the 25th can open up inspiring dialogues and remind us all that we’re stronger together. Cupid might make a cameo during celebrations, too, so get ready for some romantic reindeer games!
As for Mercury retrograde, there WILL be some mitigating factors in the mix. From Wednesday until January 19, the Sun will also brighten up the Capricorn zone, ensuring that SOME traditions stay in place. Is there a father figure you’d like to honor—a man who has been a serious hero in your life? Raise a toast to this stand-up guy during your celebrations. In steady, stabilizing Capricorn, the Sun can bring bright energy to our ambitions. Since capable Capricorn is the governor of goal-setting, it’s no surprise we make our New Year’s resolutions under these sunbeams. And while it’s a little too early to dive in to get-down-to-business mode (can we have a vacation first…please?) those grander ambitions won’t be too far from the forefront of our minds. What will it take to achieve that “high pro glow” in 2017? Think bigger! This is a potent month for visualizing success and thinking about the next steps in our professional ascents.
