Your Weekly Overview November 7th – November 13th:

OMG, it’s FINALLY happening. Let’s get these votes tallied up already and get the right candidate in the White House already! Election Day is happening this Tuesday, November 8—the same day warrior planet Mars leaves patriarchal Capricorn and enters Aquarius, the sign of social justice and progressive change. This page-turning and tide-turning transit could make America (no, not ‘murrrrica) great in a way it’s never been before. With tensions running so high, hotheaded Mars in cool-as-a-cuke, community-spirited Aquarius is just what the world could use right now. It will take our fingers off that button (including the one that says “Post” on Twitter) before unleashing another radioactive rant. This power-to-the-people Mars phase will spur us to unite, share our resources and open our minds to new and revolutionary concepts. And let’s be honest: With so many people thrown under the (Access Hollywood) bus this year, there are reparations to be made. Here’s hoping Mars’ high-minded hajj through Aquarius will teach tolerance and restore the spirit of community among the American people and on the world stage. Come together. Right now!

On Friday, there’s another interesting balancing act in the skies. Venus, the planet that rules the feminine force, hunkers down in Capricorn, the star sign associated with masculinity. Over the past month, misogyny has been a hot topic in the cultural dialogue. Archaic views of women and gender roles have been met with a heavy hammer—one that could finally make a dent in that godforsaken glass ceiling! Venus in Capricorn until December 7 makes us all a bit more non-binary. Make no assumptions based on gender, because what people are really thinking and feeling can be surprising. On a more everyday note, Venus in Capricorn can help us streamline our love goals. Nebulous relationships will require sharper definition—and existing couples should use this pragmatic spell to align, plan and maybe even produce something memorable as a pair. Sure, Thanksgiving dinner counts, but ambitious Capricorn says, think bigger! Don’t be afraid to broach that five- or ten-year plan, even share bucket lists (in bed). Some people might discover a dealbreaker through this process. Uh-oh. If one person wants the white picket fence dream while the other wants to live as a permanent global nomad, cool-headed Venus in Capricorn might just turn mismatched lovers into friends.

A third inner planet will switch signs on Saturday—whoosh! Messenger Mercury zips into outspoken Sagittarius until December 2, bringing a little fire into the equation. Making peace doesn’t mean silencing dissent. This candid cycle will no doubt keep some of the post-election debates brewing. At worst, it may inflame the ignorant rants and rhetoric. But Sagittarius is the cultural ambassador of the skies! At best, this Mercury cycle can be used to repair the trumped-up xenophobia that’s been spewed along the campaign trail. Here’s a great practice for Mercury in Sagittarius: Think globally, love locally by making a point to connect to people who come from a different background and lifestyle than your own. Drop all assumptions. Lead with questions and “beginner’s mind.” The results could be world-changing.
