Your Weekly Horoscope by The Astro Twins
Your Weekly Overview May 23rd – May 29th:
Enough with the slow jams…will somebody please Spotify some dance music already? This Tuesday, May 24, festive, flirtatious Venus changes her game, trading Taurus’ sensual stability for the communicative curiosity of Gemini. It’s time to stop sleepwalking and spice up our pillow talk in the spirit of late, great Gemini Prince. But with Venus in Gemini, we should be equally entertained OUTSIDE of the bedroom. Bring on the activity dates, road trips, and shared culture exploration. In Gemini, Venus is a cosmic coquette—and a shameless flirt, too.
This is great for getting back into the game, but not always the best for staying put with one person. Right-swipe liberally but don’t be too hasty when it comes to rejections. First date nerves are a legit thing. Geek is chic with this intellectual sign helming our libidos. Be a “sapiosexual,” giving a beautiful mind and strong character top ranking in your criteria, conventional attractiveness be damned. If you’re in a relationship, Venus in Gemini helps with communication—and that means listening, too, not just delivering long monologues. Practice mirroring back what your partner said instead of rushing to respond. When people feel heard, they feel loved.
Also on Tuesday, Venus will face off with her cosmic copilot Mars as the two form a rare opposition in the skies. While Venus in Gemini is making us all Twitterpated for the scantily-clad unicorn strutting down the street, Mars, which is retrograde in high-minded Sagittarius, reminds us to look for a lover of noble character and intellect. (Oh hello, you sexy unicorn reading War And Peace…) But lusty vibes could certainly overtake—and even steer us down a transgressive path. Avoid temptation if you don’t want to stray that day. Mars is combative and Venus is the peacekeeper. In some ways, this transit may set the stage for productive conversations (ones that could start out as arguments) about very tricky topics. There’s certainly no stepping over BS or sweeping problems under the rug on Tuesday. If you have been, get ready for an explosion. But hey, these issues probably needed to be blown into the open, anyway.
You may feel like you’re gunning the engine and slamming the brakes at the same time, come Thursday. Swashbuckling Jupiter slams into a restrictive square (90-degree angle) with taskmaster Saturn, checking our wild vibes considerably. This is the second time in 2016 that Jupiter has squared Saturn; the first was on March 23, so we could face a similar challenge this week. Last time around, however, Jupiter was retrograde, skewing our judgment. This time, Saturn is in reverse, insisting that we be practical and put smarter structures in place for success. With Jupiter in Virgo we may have become obsessed with perfection or perhaps scattering our vital resources too thin. Saturn is in Sagittarius, cautioning against taking on too much, too soon. Time to tap the brakes and bring in the expert help instead of being so DIY about everything. Rules should be understood BEFORE they are broken or we could wind up with some costly mistakes on our hands.
On Friday, Mars retrograde slips back one sign, retreating from fiery Sagittarius into the swirl of Scorpio until August 2. This will make for an intense, but seductive, summer for many of us as both Mars and Scorpio share a passion-fueled vibe. This is actually the second time in 2016 that the red planet is hanging in Scorpio, so flip back to the period from January 3 to March 5.
