Keep the practical magic, and the pot of tea, brewing. The sun spends its final four days of 2016 in Taurus, reminding us to cover the basics and make sure we have a firm foundation in place for all expansion and growth. Think like a project manager: How’s the budget looking? Is the calendar organized, and is there enough whitespace for relaxation time along with all the work (work, work, work, work)? Streamline and simplify so that there’s time for a Taurus season favorite: Stopping to smell the antique roses…and maybe plant some in the garden, too. On Friday, the Sun does a costume change, doffing Taurus’ sensible organic cotton wrap dress in exchange for Gemini’s Technicolor Dreamcoat.

From May 20 until June 20, the Sun beams in the sign of the Twins and we’ll be eager to network and find our collaborators. Seek kindred spirits: people who think, act, and work in a similar manner. Gemini also governs the neighborhood scene, so check out the local color and support the businesses in your ‘hood. There’s no need to make resentment-fueling sacrifices to find a win-win. Embrace the spirit of compromise and cooperation. Gemini is the cosmic communicator, making the coming four weeks ripe for any writing, blogging, or social media endeavors. Become an Instagram superstar with regular posts, or get to work on your memoir. The power of the pen (and the keyboard) is with us all.

Saturday, May 21st marks the annual full moon in Sagittarius—the first in a consecutive pair to light up 2016’s skies. Calling all truth-seekers! This full moon could bring some long awaited answers or point us to some life-changing teachers. But think before you blurt. An outbreak of foot-in-mouth disease could be pandemic as this full moon makes us Kanye-level candid. Preach on, people, but remember that it takes all types to make the world go round. And please use some tact so as not to smash anyone’s ego with the mighty hammer of “truth.” Wanderlust could wash over many of us, too, as Sagittarius is the zodiac’s jetsetter. Cast a wider net and keep an open mind. What we seek this week could be planted in a distant port, and may even arrive with a thickly spiced accent. And if this weekend doesn’t heliport us to Helsinki or Helios, Sagittarius full moon number two—the blue moon—on June 20 very well could!

On Sunday, lift the gag orders! After a choppy three weeks, messenger Mercury wakes up from its retrograde and gives us all some sweet relief. Chronic miscommunication now gives way to clarity, with the ability to see eye-to-eye becoming a reality once again. If you’ve been waiting for a clear signal from the stars to buy a car, sign a contract or upgrade your smart phone, the smoke is clearing now, as well. With Mercury powering forward through sensible, financially savvy Taurus until June 12, we’ll have a few good weeks to rebuild our bank balances, interview for jobs or launch new moneymaking ventures without any of those retrograde glitches running interference. Cue the sigh of relief!
