There’s no lifehacking our way through this week! Trust us, that’s really for the best, because two planets are turning retrograde in masterful Capricorn—a sign that understands the fortifying power of taking the long road instead of cheating the system with a shortcut. The first to pivot is Capricorn’s ruler, time-lord Saturn, who began a three-year trek down the Sea Goat’s trail this past December 17. This is the ringed planet’s first retrograde in Capricorn since 1991, which could pull the brake on some of our more ambitious undertakings between now and September 6. So starting Tuesday, don’t forge ahead “against all odds.” This forced slowdown is a blessing in disguise, helping us buttress our foundations, tweak our blueprints and ensure that we are building our metaphoric skyscrapers on solid ground. And when plumb-the-depths Pluto also shifts into reverse here from Sunday until September 30, we’ll get a reminder that the devil is in the details. Leave no stone unturned as you research and master plan.

With Capricorn as the ruler of banks, governments and the patriarchy, there may be some seismic course corrections ahead over the coming five months. Saturn will demand integrity while volcanic Pluto could erupt with some buried scandals and secrets. Tuesday also marks another major event: For the first time since 2011, Chiron, an asteroid known as “the wounded healer,” shifts from dreamy, spiritual Pisces into action-oriented, progressive Aries. Chiron’s symbol is a key, a nod to the idea that we can unlock our true power by healing our past pain. The destructive, warmongering and aggressive tendencies that can be associated with Aries are up for some serious reform during this eight-year cycle—and so, too, will be people who lead through force, domination and intimidation. Of course, Chiron subscribes to the notion that “as within, so without.” Instead of pointing the finger or becoming holier-than-thou, be the change you wish to see in the world! We can all play the role of victim or bully, depending on the circumstances. Where could YOU lead with a gentler, more compassionate touch? That’s the legacy Chiron in Pisces is leaving behind.

Also on Tuesday (yes…there’s more!), Venus—the planet of peace, love and harmony—gets into a dynamic dance with Jupiter and Pluto. From her current perch in Taurus, she’ll sit directly opposite the zodiac wheel from Jupiter in Scorpio. This transit can flood us with warmth and generosity; not to mention surges of soulfully sexy energy. But it can also cause boundaries to blur (or full-on dissolve!) so we’ll have to keep our wits about us. Fortunately, the same day, she’ll get a helpful beam from super-detective Pluto who is trining Venus from Capricorn’s realm. The wisdom of our hearts can combine beautifully with our generous spirits AND our intuition. Soulmates and soul friends could appear—and with the mystical energy of Scorpio and Pluto in the mix, we might even get some psychic downloads or heartwarming “signs” from loved ones who are no longer on this side.

Taurus Season begins on Thursday, as the Sun hunkers down in the zodiac’s bullpen until May 20. For the past four weeks, Aries has been stoking our creativity and originality. Now the rubber meets the road: Which of these innovative Ram-spurred visions can we legit bring to life? Don the project manager’s fedora and add some practical magic to the recipe. No need to rush! Since Taurus is both sensible AND sensual, the next four weeks are as much about ritualizing a beautiful process as they are about yielding results. Carefully consider every detail of a plan to ensure a high-quality and elegant outcome. Simplify anything that’s become too complex—but not at the expense of luxury. The tasteful Bull loves life’s finer things, as long as they also serve a purpose.
