Your Weekly Overview January 16th – January 22nd:

Prepare for liftoff! The Sun spends its final four days in can-do Capricorn, helping us get our 2017 goals off the ground. After that, rocket scientist (and sometimes space cadet) Aquarius takes the wheel until February 18, sending us into a more eccentric orbit. Use the first half of the week to fortify your launching pad. As legacy-building Capricorn knows, creating a stable foundation is the pre-requisite for success. Does your game plan need fine-tuning? Are there details that haven’t been confirmed, safety precautions to consider? Err on the side of caution so you can fly free after Thursday! And don’t forget to reap your well-deserved rewards. Maybe there’s a shiny gold star waiting to be plucked from the skies and placed on your wall of fame. Be ambitious and even a tad competitive if you’re going for the gold. Achievement-oriented Capricorn loves when we earn our credentials based on merit and hard work. And if things get difficult, persevere. Monday, January 16 is MLK Day, honoring the heroic humanitarian whose mission for equality is more relevant than ever in 2017. In his words, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

When Aquarius Season begins on the 19th, we’ll be less concerned with our individual accomplishments and more tuned in to what’s best for the collective whole. (And just in time for Saturday’s Women’s March on D.C. where we will proudly be representing!) Embrace the activist spirit—it’s time to get involved in something bigger than ourselves. Sharing is caring for the next four weeks, an important reminder that we humans pool resources—there’s more than enough to go around. Geek is chic during this tech-savvy four-week cycle. Tap the virtual network to rally with kindred spirits. If you have computer equipment and digital devices to upgrade, start shopping around. Or, call the developers and get to work on that online venture or genius app that started as a joke but might actually turn into something legit…and profitable!

Be mindful of boundaries on Thursday. That day, nervy Mars in “no limits” Pisces crashes into a challenging square (90-degree angle) with stern Saturn in zealous Sagittarius. We all have our ideals, but there will never be progress if we don’t seek to understand where the other side is coming from. Even if people’s beliefs were born in ignorance, they probably won’t be dismantled in a fiery debate—especially if insults fly. By the same token, overstepping inappropriate behavior is a no-go. The Mars-Saturn square could bring some much-needed “fight” to push back against a bully. This is a day for examining our truths. Are we operating from a clear sense of reality? If we are glamorizing or trying to paint sunshine over storm clouds, things could get ugly. Saturn in Sagittarius forces an inspection. If the certificate of authenticity is not legit, don’t slap on a fake label! Get real about where there’s room for improvement and do what it will take to pull off a mission with integrity.
