Standing Strong As a Woman
By Dr. Lawanda Mobbs
Who do she think she is?… She can’t have the same position or strength as a man. Her actions are combatable and she doesn’t know her place. At times they say she just don’t understand. She has all the right answers. She can debate any arguments with substance and accuracy. They say, “She thinks she is equal to that of a man and wants to take his place.” But we all know she doesn’t want to be a man. She holds herself accountable with self-dignity and self-measurement. She has learned to always have a plan. She stands strong for herself and everyone else.
She stands strong as a woman…
The stronger she becomes the more wisdom she gains. Even when she wants to quit. She reminds herself of her own strength. For many years she studied hard to succeed. Educating herself and gaining wisdom. She has a voice. She is strong. She is educated. She is well-rounded in her role. Her dignity demands strength. Her position calls for confidence. Even when they don’t understand her, she stands strong. She is not biased or cocky. Nor do she seek after self-gain. She just carries herself with strength as she tackles each day. Strength…what does it look like? Does it come with being strong? Does it come with courage? Or does it come with pride? She stands tall in the face of adversity. Knowing each day she has a choice to walk away. Refusing to quit. Refusing to let go. She looks difficulties in the face and tell it to go. She wasn’t built to break nor was she built to quit. One day at a time she tells herself. Envisioning each day would be better than the day before.
She stands strong as a woman…
Sometimes she get scared. Sometimes she is frightened. Sometimes she even gets angry. But no matter what the end result – she keeps going. She pushes through any feeling of fear. She is a risk-taker. She knows it’s easier to fail then to succeed. But she thrives in the face of defeat. Her passion outweighs her fear. Her fear has no power over her strength. Many have hurt her. She has been betrayed and rejected. Mistreated by so many that she trusted. Her scars has healed. Her pain became her gain. No matter the perseverance or the fight to survive she see the woman in mirror standing strong with power inside. She stands strong. She does not break. She is patient with every moment with stillness and endurance. She rediscovers herself. Evolving with endless possibilities. She stands strong as a woman. When others tell her to let go she tells them, “no way.”
She stands strong as a woman…
This woman. This strong woman. She stands strong in face of it all. Even when mocked or gossiped about her confidence covers it all. She walks with purpose. She stands with courage. She works with passion. She accepts her past mistakes. All her failures did not break her. It made her the woman, the strong woman she is today. She knows her history and understands her purpose. She evolves each day into a dynamic woman mentoring other women and paving the way. Why don’t she quit? Why don’t she throw in the towel? She can’t bring the old habits into the new habits and still stand strong through it all. She is humble, grateful and content. Her only way to survive is to know where she is going, not where she has been, but where her future will lead. She fights with her heart and not with her hands. But most of all she fights standing strong as a woman at all times. She has been renewed. She has been released. She has allowed for her yesterday to bring her into a new day of peace. If it doesn’t bring her joy, she lets it go. If it doesn’t fulfill her needs she closes the door.
She stands strong as a woman…
Who is this woman that never quits? Who is this woman with so much strength? She uses her weaknesses to improve herself. She knows how to go with the flow. She doesn’t follow the crowd. She is herself. She is genuine. She is different. She is beautiful. She is differently beautiful. Who is she? A treasured gift sent from above.
She stands strong as a woman.
