Quite Possibly the Best Brownies Ever

This recipe deserves it’s own post. This will now be my go to recipe for brownies. I love the crinkly top, and the fudginess of the brownie. Heavenly. Perfect for today’s cold day. And the snow we are about to receive this weekend.

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips *I threw in the whole package of chocolate chips and forgot to measure. Slightly more than 2 cups, but perfect!
1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Coat an 9×13 pan with foil and nonstick spray for easy removal. *I use a glass baking dish and grease it
Melt semisweet chocolate chips and butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring. Off the heat whisk in brown sugar and granulated sugar.
Transfer mixture to a medium bowl. Whisk in eggs, one at a time, and vanilla.
Stir in flour and salt.
Add batter to prepared baking pan and bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Julie of By The Recipe says this about her food writing:

I’m not sure which came first: my sweet tooth, or my desire to bake.  Before I was a wife and a mother, I was a baker.  I love to bake.

Before kids, I wasn’t much of a cook. After kids, my cooking abilities improved, I guess because I needed to feed my family. Over the years I have come to enjoy cooking, almost as much as baking.  But let’s be honest, the best part of baking and cooking are the accolades of a great mouthful of food. That inspires me.

When I cook, I cook by the recipe. Almost always.
