Looking Ahead: December 2013 Oracle Card Forecast
By Sarah Van Ness
We all need a little magic in our lives. A little “woo woo” is great for the spirit and, for my money, card readings provide exactly the magic I crave. I have always been fascinated by card reading. It seemed like such a creative, dynamic way to walk someone through the potentials in their life. I’d wanted to learn to do it for years, but was always a bit unsettled by the “scary” aspects of the traditional Tarot. Then, I discovered Oracle Cards. I think of Oracle Cards as the fun, playful sister of the Tarot. No Death card, no Swords, just kindness and beauty in a card system that brings profound insight in a gentle way. Through my role as an Oracle Card practitioner, I’ve discovered a wonderful way to use my intuitive gifts to help other women feel great about their lives! A good Oracle Card reading can help shift perspective in no time flat. And here’s the fun part…I can sprinkle a little magic on your life TODAY! So let’s do it. Let’s look at the month of December through the eyes of the Oracle. It’s the most wonderful time of the year, after all, so let the parties begin!
For Week One (December 1-7), I drew the OPENING card. What a great start! The opening card asks us to throw our hearts open wide and be ready to receive the gifts the universe has waiting for us. In this month of gift giving holidays, who wouldn’t want one from the universe? As the heart opens up, so does our willingness to see beyond our own limitations. This is a great week to evaluate, explore, open, and grow! Lift your limitations, smile to the heavens, and be ready to receive!
For Week Two (December 8-14), I drew the COMMITMENT card. During the holiday season, it is so easy to over-commit and over-extend. This week, commit to your own needs, wants, and intentions. Do you need to take some time away from outside events and return the focus to self? Are you pushing your boundaries? Evaluate honestly this week. Look at your to do list and hone in on what is serving your highest good. Commit only to those things and release other activities that aren’t important. Re-commit to self care. You deserve it!
In Week Three (December 15-21), it’s the GRATITUDE card. Tis the season to be jolly, but this week let gratitude rise to the forefront! Be thankful for everything in your life, even the stuff that may not be wrapped up in a pretty package. When you have a heart of gratitude, the true meaning behind your hardships will be revealed to you. That is where the Ah Ha! Moments live. This is a great week to ramp up your affirmations. Wake up in the morning and name five things you are grateful for before your feet even hit the floor. Walk through this week with a grateful heart and share your gratitude with your friends and family.
On to Week Four (December 22-28) and here we have the EMBRACING card. The holidays can be a wonderful time, but they can also be filled with tumult, tantrums, and tizzies! Choose this week to embrace it all with a sense of grace and ease. When we are in a state of resistance, we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed and out of sorts. If a big family gathering is in your plans for this week, you can be particularly set up to have buttons pushed! Prepare for it and let it be. Be generous with hugs, smiles, and laughter. It is what it is. Embrace it and give thanks for the blessings in your life.
For the last little nubbin of the month, Week Five (December 29-31), I drew the BEAUTY card. Look around in amazement at what is. The beauty that surrounds us each day is truly magnificent. Stop to see the true glory in nature, take a long walk and appreciate your surroundings. As the year closes, reflect on everything beautiful that came into your life in 2013, the people, events, and opportunities. Appreciate and validate their importance. Focus on the finer things in your life.
The Overall Theme for the month of December is the FULFILLMENT card. Fulfillment comes from embracing what is, being gracious for what you have, seeing the beauty in your life and being open to receive the gifts waiting for you. Live your passion, embrace your dreams, and be ready to see what the New Year ushers in. I, for one, can’t wait. After all, there’s always a little magic to be had if you just know where to look!
