Life in the fast lane? Crystal Andrus signals over.
Unfortunately, many of us live in a world where we feel proud, even empowered, to share the chaos and confusion we live in: “You can’t believe my schedule! It is crazy busy!”
I, too, like most of us can get caught up living in the fast lane. Going, doing, running, responding, reacting – often without much planning or thought. It’s all happening in autopilot mode.
There’s no time to think. No time to hit the pause button. No time to take inventory.
That’s what momentum does to us.
We get on a roll and can’t seem to slow down.
We literally find ourselves running on the treadmill of life.
Trouble is, we don’t know how to hit the stop button, step off, and re-evaluate: “Is this actually working for me? Am I becoming happier, healthier, and wealthier with each passing day?”
Certainly this frenetic journey of doing, trying, pushing, pleading, yelling, arguing, denying, and sacrificing will pay off, won’t it?
Certainly the pain and suffering will magically transcend into joy and happiness once I “get there,” won’t it?
Hmmm . . .
Nope. It won’t.
Why?
It doesn’t work that way. Success comes when you’re resonating in the energy of happiness, self-confidence, faith, truth, and self-love.
And joy and happiness won’t arrive until you decide to step out of the chaos and into the quiet surrender of the truth:You are already enough. You have nothing to prove.
Go about your day with purpose rather than pressure.
Make a plan of true productivity rather than people pleasing.
Be willing to upset those who disagree with your pace.
As a dear friend told me the other day,
“I’m willing to twist into a pretzel for those I love.”
That’s the problem. We shouldn’t have to twist into a
pretzel for anyone—loved one or not.
Today, why not be willing to march to the beat of your own drum, knowing “there is no there”.
Do you get that?
There is no “there”. There is only “here”.
Right now, how do you feel about your life?
If not peaceful, focused, clear, content, loving, accepting, courageous and willing, let me remind you, “there” will never arrive.
So, what can you do?
Why not decide to step out of the fast lane – unless it truly revs you up, gives you juice, makes you excited, empowers your purpose, and stimulates your passion – and instead, do what makes you happy.
Happiness is the secret sauce.
I’d love to know your thoughts on this article. Please leave me a comment and I’ll respond!
Warmly,
Crystal
