How to Book Clients using Other People’s Facebook Groups
By Tani Morgan
For many women, deciding to become a coach and entrepreneur sounds exciting, glamorous and relatively simple. We see posts and ads about people making 60K in a week and how to easily make six figures a year even if you are a brand new coach and honestly, my friends, so much of this is exaggerated and sometimes it’s even out-right lies.
It’s absolutely possible, but there is hard work involved to grow a successful business. The internet makes it look like it will be easy and fast but the truth is that if you talk to any successful entrepreneur, they will tell you that it took hard work (at least in the beginning), and they had to find a way to create a following, audience or community to make their dream happen. If you don’t have an audience, you won’t have anyone to buy your services.
You’ve probably heard that Facebook Groups are a good way to create an audience. Maybe you’ve even started a group, invited some friends and started posting but it’s not growing very quickly. Engagement is low and then pretty soon you are the only person posting in there and you are wondering where the clients are?
Or maybe you don’t feel called to create, lead and moderate your own Facebook group?
Don’t worry, you can use other people’s groups – just make sure to read and follow the rules so that you are staying within the group’s guidelines.
Other’s people’s Facebook groups are actually a great way to connect with your soul clients. I know because I have signed the majority of my clients from FB groups. I’ve also created important relationships and friendships from participating in groups leading to opportunities that I wouldn’t have found elsewhere.
Start by finding 2-3 active Facebook groups where your soul clients are hanging out and request to join them. Make sure to join groups that allow you to promote your services so that once you’ve developed new relationships, you can offer your services to your new connections.
Once you’ve been accepted, it’s important to get to know the active members in the group and let them get to know you so you can create a relationship. Business is really about creating relationships and trust. If people trust you, then they’ll buy from you and if they don’t….well, they won’t.
Think of the group as a cocktail party and start by introducing yourself. Post a photo, part of your story and then showing up as an expert in your area of genius. Ask questions and create conversations to really get to know your new friends.
You can also use the search bar to locate questions that tie to your area of expertise and then answer them. This is a fantastic way to showcase your expertise and demonstrate how you can help potential clients.
You’ll also want to write value posts that showcase your expertise while encouraging your reader to take action. Drop a meme from time to time is fun and can be helpful, but if you are really serious about your business then you’ll want to make sure you are creating your own memes…using someone else’s without sharing them directly from their page isn’t really cool. They’ve taken the time to create it and aren’t receiving any benefit. It’s really easy to make your own memes with Canva these days and it’s quite fun. So find some quotes or better yet, write your own and use a template or photos to make your own memes. You can check out Canva’s Meme Maker here.
However, memes alone are not going to cut it. They don’t let people really get to know you. You have to share about yourself, your story, why you do what you do and what you are excellent at to make valuable connections.
Create messages and posts that inspire your soul clients to take action by truly understanding them. You need to know what they are struggling with, what they dream of and especially the language they use. You must speak to them in their language and help them see what happens if they don’t take action and get help with their struggles.
Once you’ve created some relationships and are starting to be seen as an expert, then you can make posts that are strategically targeted to attract your soul clients. Ask them for their opinions or experiences around your post and when they comment on your post, take a moment to see if they are asking for more help energetically. If so, reach out to them and start creating a relationship. Ask them about their struggles and see if they need the support or service that you provide, but don’t just offer your services right away. Be authentic, be caring and build a relationship first.
You always want to make sure to offer value and help first. If you just drop your promos or pitches, you’ll likely annoy the leader and people aren’t going to respond because they don’t know who you are.
So choose groups where you can promote your services, get really visible, show up like an expert, create relationships, provide value and then offer your services to those who really need your help. This is how you can easily sign clients, make money and create a positive impact in this world using other people’s Facebook groups.
