Fight Inflammation with This Golden Milk Recipe
By Steph Davidson | NaturallySavvy
With our busy lives, our not so perfect sleep habits, and digestive issues, our overall well-being is definitely in need of some support. I’ve been reading a lot about the benefits of golden milk lately, so I decided to give it a try, and I wasn’t disappointed!
Golden milk, a traditional Ayurvedic recipe, has been gaining popularity in the wellness community thanks to the numerous nutritional benefits of turmeric. Curcumin, the main therapeutic ingredient in turmeric, is one of the strongest natural anti-inflammatories. The spice is revered for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiseptic qualities.

Even if you don’t suffer from chronic inflammation, you can still reap the benefits of this soothing spice. In fact, just eating processed and packaged foods can cause an inflammatory response. Try this soothing, sweet (but not too sweet) recipe and see if golden milk is a good addition for your healthy nighttime routine.
Ingredients
1 cup non-dairy milk (at Naturally Savvy, we like So Delicious)
1 tsp Barlean’s or Lily of the Desert coconut oil
1 tsp organic turmeric
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (plus more to sprinkle on top)
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp agave, honey, maple syrup, or other natural sweetener
1/8 tsp black pepper (this is crucial to the bioavailability of the curcumin)
Directions
Blend ingredients together in a blender and pour into a small pot. Heat without bringing to a boil. Enjoy!
Tip: You can make a larger batch and store it in the fridge for up to 5 days. If you want to enjoy golden milk without all the work, we recommend Gaia Herbs golden milk blend.
