featured simply woman superstar - Ramona Kossowan
Our featured Simply Woman Superstar this week is Ramona Kossowan – a graduate of the S.W.A.T. Institute and a Health and Fitness Coach; she’s a Gentle Trauma Release Practitioner — the first in Canada!
What makes Ramona a superstar is not that she lives in Hollywood or has a huge social media following; it’s how she went from being a shy girl, the eldest of seven, living in a small rural town in Canada to having her own business helping women from all over the world, as well being a devoted mother to her two boys and a loving wife to her husband of nearly 30 years.
She recalls being a shy 19-year-old. Unsure of her next steps, she answered a job ad which ended up being to sell Kirby vacuums. For some reason, she felt a fire inside of her tell her that she could do this! Her mother thought she’d lost her mind.
“I was so far past my comfort zone. I was in a different stratosphere. I know this was a life lesson I needed to summon my courage. It takes a lot of courage for a shy, quiet 19-year-old girl to jump out of a van, knock on a stranger’s door, actually convince them to let you in, spend 2 hours with them yanking dirt out of their home and then sign them up with their own new vacuum. I won some trips and prizes and gained a taste for achievement. I now knew I could do stuff and I craved more. This woke me up to some of my potential.”
Fast forward to being 34, she found herself feeling hopeless – stuck in a job that she hated and feeling financially and emotionally broken. She wanted to start a family and quit working at a burnout job and move to a small town. Her husband’s business venture with a partner didn’t work out, and the debt was piling on fast. She’d also just lost her first pregnancy.
Feeling completely lost, she went for a walk and experienced this strong feeling that God was watching over them and everything would be okay.
A year later, they were living in their new home in the small town she wanted. They had their first child and had sorted their finances out. By letting go and allowing things to unfold, they did beautifully.
She went on to start her own health and fitness business, and eventually decided that she’d like to become a coach as well. After stumbling upon The S.W.A.T. Institute, she knew it was a match.
Looking back, sometimes Ramona felt it was taking too long for her to figure out her path, and yet, she now has faith that it all happened the way it was supposed to.
“Learning to trust life is not an easy lesson to learn, yet it is one of our greatest ones here on earth,” she explains. A lesson she is deeply thankful to have received.
What is so impressive to me about Ramona is her deep loyalty, commitment, and integrity, something I could feel and sense from her every time we met up during a live Zoom call or class. Ramona just gets it! We often call women like her the Salt of the Earth – grounded, kind, wise, and thoughtful. And it’s so amazing to see her SOAR in her life!
