Each Mother knows what it feels like to worry

How does the heart expand so much to steward this new being, this extraordinary life. I often hear from women that even watching emotionally charged movies is too much when mothering young children.

So much feels at stake, so much pressure, an impulse to protect and heal.

The initiation into mothering – oneself or another – is to stop running and start feeling.

But how do we feel without getting lost in the abyss of emotion. Tough one’s like guilt, shame and fear can result in an almost paralyzing state where we enter the land of no return (or so it can seem for a while).

Other emotions like anger and outrage can be productive if given space to funnel in the right direction. Which means not inward, and not on an unsuspecting person!

The state of the world can feel incredibly painful, no matter who you are, but especially during the tenter time of child rearing.

The extrasensory abilities of a conscious mother are unparalleled in my observation. She knows, she anticipates, she takes total responsibility (even if unwarranted).

In those quiet moments when a woman bares her soul to me it’s as if time stands still and the place of collective experience is unleashed.

We share so much. Just the commonality of being a woman. There is this familiarity, this bond. When we become mothers, we know it’s not just about us anymore. Our deepest hopes and desires for our children, the future and human kind are the same.

The tender of heart sometimes can feel as if their deep sensitivity is a liability (believe me, I can relate). But I am here to say it is your gift.

Through feeling so much, we can heal so much. We can be anything we want to be, because we can feel it into being. Really.

The thoughtful one’s are my personal favorite. I can see them a mile away. You can too, because you are one.

What is it that your being needs to feel today?

What do you need to let yourself off the hook for today?

What would make you feel light, loved and safe today? Do that!

Big heart hugs dear one.
