3 reasons why at-home workouts get you in amazing shape
By Christine Kirkland
If you’re like me, you love working out. You love the feeling of moving your body, feeling strong and clearing your head of any stress. But there’s only one thing better than all of those things: getting in shape without having to leave the comfort of your own home!
I’m talking about at-home workouts—a growing trend that lets busy people squeeze in a quick workout while they’re still wearing their pajamas! If you’re not doing these already, here are three reasons why you should start:
#1 You don’t have to feel self-conscious working out in front of others
The beauty of at-home workouts is that you don’t have to feel self-conscious working out in front of others. You can do it in the privacy of your own home, and no one will know what you are doing (you can sing and dance if you want!). You can also work out at any time during the day, which makes it easy to fit a workout into your busy schedule.
If you aren’t feeling confident enough to show up at an exercise class yet, try some Youtube videos and go slow. It is important to find a workout you like doing and that is gentle on your body to start. My favorite is Pilates as it is a low impact workout that improves full body strength, balance, improves mobility and is uniquely gentle on my joints.
#2 You can remove excuses
If you are one to make excuses before your workout such as there will be no parking at the gym, it cold and raining out or all my work out clothes are in the wash. At home workouts will help keep you consistent because:
- You can workout at home, in your own time
- No need to worry about parking
- If it’s cold or raining, you can still workout indoors (and avoid the long commute)
- You choose your own workout clothes or stay in your pajamas – you do you!
#3 You don’t have to commit to a class time
If you have a busy schedule or are just starting out it can be really difficult to find time for classes. With at-home workouts, you can decide when and how much you want to exercise without any restrictions!
You can work out when you want.
If you prefer early mornings or late evenings, at home workouts are the perfect solution. You don’t have to worry about getting up early or finding someone who can go with you at night—it’s all up to you! You don’t have to find a gym or studio that caters to your schedule.
At home workouts make reaching your goals even easier
Working out at home is a great option for many people. You get to save money and time by not having to worry about traveling to and from the gym, parking or finding a clean locker. If you’re someone who likes working out in the morning when everyone else is still sleeping (ahem), this can be especially beneficial because you can save time in your morning routine by omitting the commute to the studio or gym.
As if that weren’t enough reasons to love working out at home, there are even more perks! For instance, with at-home workouts you won’t have to feel self-conscious about what other people think of your routine—no one will see it but you!
Also, if an excuse crops up like: “It’s raining outside,” “It’s cold today” or even “My work out clothes are all dirty”—you can easily counter them by saying: “No worries! I just need to roll out my mat and get started”.
Conclusion
The benefits of at home workouts are endless! You can workout whenever you have time, without having to drive anywhere or pay for parking. This makes it convenient and ideal for people who don’t have a lot of spare time but still want to stay healthy. At home workouts give you the freedom to work out whenever you want without any interruptions from other people.
