Daydreaming as an art form? Well, why not? This Monday, June 18 soothsayer Neptune spins into its annual retrograde, perfecting its backstroke through its native waters of Pisces. Start that summer meditation practice or sign up for a long-weekend artist’s retreat. This five-month, surrealist cycle can send the seekers of the world even further down the rabbit hole—a purposeful voyage meant for drawing up new discoveries and sharing them with the cosmic collective. Be mindful about who and what you work with though! From “healers” to “plant medicines,” this retrograde is no time for experimenting with unknown quantities. Neptune’s backspin through empathic Pisces can make all of our systems more sensitive. Like sponges, we can absorb the mood of a room and the people in it. (If we find ourselves grouchy for “no reason,” this may be the clue.) We’ll need to shield our fields, maybe by carrying crystals, burning sage or even visualizing ourselves in a bubble of violet light before stepping out into the rat race. Since Neptune is the god of the seas, refillable water bottles are the must-have summer accessory for vibrant health. More H2O, please!

In some cases, Neptune’s annual retrograde can reverse the blue-hazed planet’s foggy effect. It’s sort of like watching a password-protected, instructional YouTube video of Harry Houdini’s magic tricks. (So THAT’S how he did it!) With false flags and twisted tales being tweeted on the daily—and from the most “esteemed” institutions, at that—Neptune’s timeout can help us sort out the truth. We might even realize that we’ve been stepping into some spin doctor’s trap. Doh! Hang on to your oversized straw hat! When the veil is lifted, what lies beneath could be even MORE shocking than anticipated.

Wednesday’s quarter moon in Virgo brings another reality check. Where have our objectives become overly complicated…and expensive? Dismount the unicorn and deal with reality. Creating project plans, budgets and timelines is anything BUT a buzzkill now. Knowing the facts can make our dreams feel more doable. Eco-conscious Virgo wants us to think sustainably when cooking up our recipes for success. Choose materials and ingredients that are consciously crafted and manufactured with care and integrity. Little things mean everything under this lunar leveling.

On Thursday, the summer solstice beams in and announces the beginning of Cancer season. With these solar flares shooting into the softest, most sentimental parts of our hearts until July 22, it’s time to get cozy with the people we truly j’adore. Reconnect with relatives and inner circle besties; book that beach cottage or meet for a family-reunion picnic in the park. Since we’ll want to take “home” with us wherever we go, soften up workspaces with domestic touches. Who says an office can’t be designed to look like a chic hotel lobby or a 19th century library? Since Thursday is the longest, lightest day of the year, consider it a powerful moment of personal illumination. Write that “I Heart You” in the sand; hand deliver an old school love note to bae. Or simply have a sit-down with your journal and dedicate the solstice to tracking the wisdom of your heart. Creative bursts might evoke transcendent works of art. Plant yourself somewhere that inspires you, that is a vessel for the muse!
